COCHIN
Cochin is considered to be a major economic and industrial hub of the region. Its natural harbour is already well known all over. » St Francis Church : It was constructed in 1503 by the Portuguese and is also known for the fact that Vasco Da Gama's remains were buried here.
» Chinese Fishing Nets : These are huge cantilevered nets that were brought here by the Chinese traders.
» Mattancherry Palace : This was also built by the Portuguese and gifted to the then King Raja Veera Kerala Varma. It was later renovated by the Dutch.
MUNNAR
Munnar - breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's own country. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. 1600 meter above sea level this hill station was once "The summer resort" of the erstwhile British Government in South India.
Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district. Unending expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests - aroma of spice scented cool air -! Munnar has all these and more. The Munnar hills are covered by tea plants which makes the feeling of seeing a wide green carpet. It's the place you would love to visit. THEKKADY
The first time you hear about Thekkady, it gives you an impression of presence of elephants, hills that just don't end and plantations that emanate the smell of spices, dig a little deeper and you'll find one of the finest wildlife reserves which also provides you an opportunity for treks and mountain walks that will get you closer to the nature like never before.

» Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary : The sanctuary is situated in close vicinity of the plantations and has been declared a tiger reserve in 1978. There is an artificial lake here which was formed by the construction of Mulla Periyar dam which adds to the beauty of the park. Here you can have a look at the wild animals quenching their thirst from the safety of the boat.
» Kumily : It is a plantation town that is closely associated with Thekkady. Kumily is located on the periphery of the Periyar Sanctuary. It is an important centre for shopping specially for the spices.
» Murikkady : It is also an important spice plantation centre where you'll find a kaleidoscope of cardamom, coffee and pepper plantations.
